How you can help your child

Year 2 children will be undergoing testing in the Summer term. It is important that your child does not worry or feel pressured to perform during these assessments and that they simply 'do their best' as final results are based largely on teacher assessment, taken throughout the whole year.

You can help your child prepare for year three by continuing to read throughout the holidays, practise times tables, and spelling tricky words.

Encouraging your child to be more independent (by changing their own books, organising their things for school etc.) will help them during this transitional phase of school.

Using web-sites such as Mathletics and Spellodrome will support your child's learning at home and sometimes your child's homework will be base around these programs.
