How you can help your child

SUGGESTIONS FOR HOMEWORK AND HOME SUPPORT

Read and discuss with your child each evening. Good comprehension of texts is essential for maintaining and continuing progress.

Help and encourage your child to learn their weekly spellings and to understand the spelling rule. Test your child by encouraging them to use these spellings in the context of other writing ie. letters, diary etc.

Support your children in their various homework projects by talking to them about their work, visiting the library, helping to pick out relevant information from computer print outs. Encourage neat presentation of work in pen, using joined up writing.
