                                                          Welcome to Challenge Class!

Expectations for Year 2

Children are expected to read every night for ten minutes. This needs to be recorded in their diaries every night please.

Part of their weekly homework is to complete activities on Mathletics and TT Rockstars as well as learning their 2,3,5, and 10 time tables.

Spellings will be taken from the Year 2 expectations list that we have worked on in class.  A list of these words are available on the homework page.

Reading books will be changed every Friday if there is evidence of regular reading.

Please could you ensure that your child's diaries and reading books are in school every day.

Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday. Please ensure that your child has correct kit in school at all times and earrings are removed on PE days.

Marvellous Maths!

We have been exploring properties of 2D shapes. We used art straws to make different 2D shapes. Have a look at our work below.

Amazing Homework!

I would like to say a huge well done to everyone for their amazing homework. The children set up a gallery in class on Friday to share what they had produced and the outcomes were fantastic. I was so impressed with what the children had created and the class gave each other really positive feedback.

Keep an eye out for photographs coming soon!

During STEM week the children had lots of fun learning about Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. We had the opportunity to play maths games with 'Subject Revolution' and the 'Happy Puzzle Company'.

In DT we made robots, linked to our 'Robot and the Bluebird' story. As you can see, we had lots of fun creating them from recycled materials!
