Hook Lane Primary School

Encouraging Fearless Learners

Year 6 Homework:

Homework is very important in year 6 and it is essential that it is completed and brought in on the due date. We usually go through and mark these together so concepts can be discussed and misconceptions can be dealt with on the spot. Deadlines can vary in year 6, depending on the task and the time of the year, but the children are always told in advance.

This half term your homework will be linked to the Maya Civilisation. You must complete both tasks by Thursday 18th October. Please speak to either Miss Garratty or Mrs Sandford if you have any questions.

You also have 10 spellings to learn each week using the Look, Cover Write sheet and the activity sheets based around the specific spellings. (Spellings are also on this page, below).
Spelling tests will take place every Friday and we expect all children to learn them off by heart as well as being able to apply them to their writing.

Spellings: At the end of this term we will be holding a Spelling Bee based on all of the Winter term's spellings. How many can you spell by heart?
